I believe to have sustained a rotator cuff injury from a weightlifting incident (I am not sure this is what it is, but given the fact that I have a pain in the upper arm, I am assuming that is what it is). What is the best kind of caregiver for me to see for a diagnosis and treatment?
Thanks,
Thomas

Most anyone with musculoskeletal knowledge should be able to evaluate whether you have a bad strain, partial or full tear. Unless it's torn badly you will be advised to rest it completely but use occasional stretches to keep the shoulder joint mobile.
An osteopath, chiropractor, orthopedist and some mds would be on the list of people you could get evaluated from.

Hi, Thomas.
I would combine a sports medicine specialist with a chiropractor.

If it were me, I wouldn't weight train for a while. Rest it while icing it down every day. See if it helps.

Mine was totally cured by acupuncture. The sports physician was impressed, because he thought it would only partially heal. Don't do ANYTHING overhead at all for several weeks; de-acidify your diet religiously, use the other arm for all tasks, and get acupuncture twice a week initially and then weekly. Mine took 18 months, and I'm sure the alkaline diet was critical. Don't let any cortisone into your system, and don't TOUCH anti-inflammatories. They mask the condition. The pain is to warn you of your limits. Don't challenge the shoulder until there's no pain. Discomfort only. Good luck!
