Dr. Stoll:
I am a first time visitor to your site. I continue to Web-search for some answers.
I am clearing out a severe case of dysbiosis (yeasts and viruses-viruses esp. present since childhood) using olive leaf extract and frequency generator. Supported by a number of nutrients.
Unfortunately the toxins have wreaked havoc on my adrenals.
And poor adrenal function effects EVERY part of my life.
I currently use PLUS from Mannatech which has been the most effective supplement I have yet found. However, day in day out wear and tear plus toxin impact on the adrenals (and resulting symptoms) continue to make me search for an ongoing satisfying adrenal support, rebuilding, nourisher.
I am a psychotherapist in private practice so there is a level of stress to my work AND I must work to pay the costs of getting well. (I know this impacts adrenals as well.)
1. Do you know of any other effective supplements, homeopathics, or other effective alternatives for adrenal support?
2. Have you heard of Sanum products from Germany? Am aware they have excellent supplements for dysbiosis healing-wonder about adrenal products?
Thanks Very Much.
Sam L.

Thought I'd add a few things to close the circle. I follow a tight diet regimen (low carb for people with candida) along the lines of D'Adamo ER4YT; I meditate and strive toward alpha as much as I can; I do alot of spritual self-work and have been for 4 years(when I finally began to make it an active part of my life)-currently attempting to discern where I continue to control my will thru ego and yielding more and more to Higher Power; deal with illusion in my life (from family of origin)and attempt to relinquish.
I feel caught in a vise in one area: though I am gratified to work in psychotherapy esp. because my focus is children I really want to move in the direction of stage writing. I had started a theater program about 7 years ago that I had to forego for health reasons.(Wasn't bringing home the money I needed and couldn't devote the time necessary) And am aware of my current double-bind. Work to earn money to support getting well but not living truest purpose. there's another spiritual dilemma in there I can't ferret out as yet-working toward it...
I decided to go for it and let it all hang because in perusing this website I sensed a great deal of support and caring.

I have been(and still am to some degree) on the same path as you. Guess what I learned, after 3 years of trying to "ferret out" every possible cause and best product... I found out that needing to know the exact right everything doesn't heal. In fact, it drains energy. You have a belief...maybe that this world is not a safe place....or,that the knowledge of your condition and products and proceedures are some kind of control... that you must be very very careful to make sure all your decisions are the best....something like that(I feel some real greif there too). The truth is that external things do not heal the body or soul. It is all internal. Externals can support the body to some degree while the inner work is being done(and you are doing the inner work) but it won't heal you. Forgiveness is the KEY to healing. It truly is. Spend more time inside of you, listening to you, getting to know you and your true self. The answers are all in you, not in Germany in some bottle. You are truly a beautiful person.

Dear K-I-A Has Been:
From one to another--thanks for your wonderful post. No question working a huge belief about fear and protection(maybe coming into the world and in utero knowing I would be an adoptee) solidified that issue. And of course the flip side about control. Interesting that I had double pneumonia at two months-speaking of grief. Getting at more of that emotion and letting the fear go has been quite a process. But your post gives one inspiration and as I recently read in a religious book I have-spiritual perseverence.
Beauty...yes...ditto to you.
Warmly,
Sam

Dear Sam,
Welcome to the BB you need. As you get well, I hope you will share your experiences with the rest of the BB participants since your condition is shared by millions (some of which are YOUR patients).
I will make some statements that you will probably find hard to accept but I make them since you are going to have to change your focus to resolve this.
The "toxins" are not the problem with your adrenals. So long as you focus on your adrenal function, you are never going to resolve this problem.
I am not saying that your adrenals are not stressed, they are. However, this is just another tip of the iceberg & you are wasting much of your effort dealing with this "tip".
There is a book that was written about you that you need to get under your belt before we talk again. Read "Mind as Healer, Mind as Slayer" by Dr Pelletier. Once you have that information as part of your personal database, I will be happy to work with you here on this BB. That will help others see how their own condition relates. THEN, as they see you get well---------------
Walt

Dear Sam,
Sounds like you are SO CLOSE and yet so far.
Your statements about your relaxation technique are very revealing. I have found that NO relaxation technique should be practiced more than 2 weeks without checking it with a biofeedback mnachine to prove that alpha is actually being reliably produced. THEN, less than twice a day (you cannot count any done withinn 2 hours prior to retiring) will EVER resolve something like this.

Dear Know-it-all,
Well said!
However, while people are learning to do it that way, some need to use an easier path for a while.
There are MANY paths to the top of the mountain. The trick is to match the path with the seeker. They can ALWAYS change paths when they are ready. The healthier they get, the more likely they can do it by raising consciousness.
The body IS the temple of the soul, after all.
Thanks, Walt

Dear Dr. Stoll (Haven't had tea with you yet, and don't golf, so hesitant to call you Walt):
Went to the library, got the book. Of course, have done many of these things in a disordered fashion, on and off for awhile. Not saying that with any hubris, more like... embarrassed...because I don't stick with the obvious things that can really help. Plus, (redfaced)I frequently prescribe such items for my own clients.
Appreciate your candid, straightforward and (to me anyway, and necessary) provocative style. The only way to do therapy...
Be back in a few days after I digest Pelletier.
Thanks again,
Sam

Dear Sam,
THANKS! I have found that style to be necessary for progress too but it doesn't win me many friends until they get better.
I am looking forward to hearing your impressions of Pelletier's book.
Walt
Dear No Name,
Go to your library & ask the reference librarian to find you ANYTHING by Hans Selye, MD. Also you have to read "Mind as Healer, Mind as Slayer" by Dr Pelletier.
THEN, if you think you are ready to do something about what you are learning (these books were written about you), you would benefit by reading a copy of my book which gets into what to do about it (link below).
As you get well, please share your experiences with the BB. There are a lot more like you out there & the numbers are increasing by leaps & bounds.
Walt
