Hello all...
I dpn't quite follow the logic I am seeing espoused here, is this a religious cult? :)
All I know is that I live in Texas, and any heat kicks my butt. I just recently was ill for 1 solid week from riding in an un airconditioned car for 1 hour, doing little errands in the Texas heat, temperature 105 or.
No amount of touchy feely, mind over matter, faith, or clear avoidance of the problem was going to help me.
I am sure there is a definitve answer for why I have to constantly drink water, have to quit anything that causes me to sweat immediately, and must avoid any work in the sun.
I was diagnosed as cfs, had for years had high re infection titres ofthe ebv, and weird catecholamine numbers.
high very high dopamine, low adrenaline. For years I had tachycardias and arrythmias that subsided i guess after i figured out to drink lots of wtare, like 1 gallon a day.
My doctor, gave me a shot of cortisone, because he thought i had an inflammed spleen, but that shot turned me into superman immediately.
I could actually mow the lawn in the texas sun, and not pay hell for it. the shot was way, way way more than i needed for my real problem, but it showed the way.
I could sweat, a huge amount even, heart pumped like crazy
too hard and too much of the cortisone, but I remember the effect.
Now a phd in endocrine suggests that maybe i have adrenalk insufficiency, wants me to add alderestone, and cortisone, test. I am glad ofthis possibility, as I mistakenly was thinking pheochromocytoma, so ill take a pill instead.
The doc thought the ebv was the culprit, but on closer investigation, i noticed i wasnt sleeping regular hours, or eating well at all. I changed that, and it made substantial progress. Fruits are so full of long term energy ! So i kinda have a two pronged approach, to sleep and eat normally, and to see if i actually hace low precursors to adrenaline, ie aldesterone and cortisol.
I have already lost big in all this, ill for nearly 10 years. Divorce, cant do a full time job , because ofthese problems.
Yet i still yearn for the beaches of Hawaii :)
I ran across this info, someone said he was cured of adrenal insufficiency by taking licorice extract, i bout some, but am very unsure as to when i will actually try it.

Dear Don,
It sounds to me like you need a little "tincture of knowledge" to start straightening out your misconceptions.
Read a copy of the most recent edition of Dr Pelletier's classic: "Mind as Healer, Mind as Slayer". Then, if you want to go to the basic research, read ANYTHING by the world's, still top expert in this area (even though he is dead now): Hans Selye, MD. Dr Pelletier's work is based upon Dr Selye's---it is just more reader friendly.
If you want some more recent basic research, read Herbert Benson, MD's stuff from Harvard (most recent best).
THEN, once you are satisfied that this is not "touchy feely stuff", you might be ready to discuss it more on this BB.
I will welcome you back since it sounds like you are really seeking, just confused by preconceptions------aren't we all?

Walt:
I'm back again and may have done a goof. I have been very disciplined in my increase in relaxation time and reaching alpha/theta brain states over the past 6 weeks or so. So much inspired that I began throwing out supplements(as I wrote in an earlier post) finally knowing I had found the way to heal myself. Embarrassingly, even tho a psychotherapist who preaches such gospel to clients it took me a long time to do this myself. I guess a matter of "teaching others what I most need to learn."
Anyway, to remind you, about 8 years ago, over high stress issues had severe immune compromise and LGS issues the predominent of which has been adrenal FAILURE-breathlessness, lowered body temp., low level hypertense, hard to take in a good breath(easy out), back and neck ache and waist ache in a.m., hypoglycemia, panic attacks now controlled fairly well with diet, times of anxiety-many symptoms associated with kidney/adrenal energy issues.
Well, I was finishing up treatment with an acupuncturist who in April used Rife for the intestinal viruses, candida, etc.-he also(he said) included heavy metal and chemical sensitivities detox from using Rife. I was familiar with the detox from that aspect of treatment since I had experienced it before. Ultimately the detox takes a toll on my adrenals at times exacerbating the above symptoms.
As part of his followup, rather than use needles he puts tachyon crystals (muscle tests for shape and color)on meridian points. Having held these crystals for extended periods in the past I was quite aware of their potential energy. Especially the Tree of Life. (They are purchased by a local-Fort Collins, CO- alternative bookstore owner from a company in Germany. They also have a Website about the tachyons.) I've had four treatments over the past 2 weeks or so (to finish up) and basically all hell has broken loose. It seems like a big energy shift has taken place. My practitioner says I am releasing emotions. This has taken a great toll on my poor adrenals even more significant than the detox of critters, metals, or chemicals. I'm having a tough time recovering when just prior had worked myself off all hypertensive and anti-anxiety meds I now find I struggle without low doses of either just to help maintain(I still refuse to take them unless in dire need which might be infrequently when I work.)
Do you have any familiarity with these? As per Gregs' post below, could it be the relaxation releasing? I was taking Ambrotose powder from Mannatech until about 6 weeks ago. I felt better on it but could not imagine how discontinuing could cause this...? Anyway I just stopped the treatments because it seemed too powerful and out of control.
Appreciate your thoughts or others familiar with these odd and strange tachyons.
Back to heal thyself. I guess I learn the hard way. The Good Lords way of helping me work on impatience.

Dear Sam,
UNFORTUNATELY, we ALL have to learn the hard way!
Also, unfortunately, when one is doIng the skilled relaxation right, the benefits are so dramatic that many people become over confident. Remember, you need to get far enough back from the edge of the cliff that these other things cannot push you back over the edge. That takes 6-12 months of effective skilled relaxation------------ NOT 6 weeks. In MY opinion, it is the skilled relaxation that ties all this other stuff together.
You have lots of company for doing what you did and I have seen it often enough to know that MOST people have to go through some kind of learning thing like this at least once on their way to wellness.
Be of good cheer & go back to what you were doing when you were doing well. This couldn't have happened to you unless you had been on the right track. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
