Being that autoimmunity is an overactive immune system, when people speak of "boosting" the immune system through SR or with supplements, is that intended for those with BOTH overactive and underactive immunity or just one or the other?

Hi, Karen.
The immune system becomes hyper-reactive when it is pushed close to it's limits (See the edge of the cliff simile on the home page--"Modern Medical Interpretation of Stress")
That is why improving the immune system will also reverse both autoimmune (overactive) and general immunity (underactive) problems.
Hope this helps.
