Severe diarrhea, something that really helped me.

I have been following this site for some time. For a couple of years now I have had bouts of malabsorption, bloating, diarrhea and other LGS symptoms. I had been trying everything, relaxation, enzymes, nutrition, all of which definitely helped with each episode, but long term things kept getting worse, culminating in a 3 month spell of diarrhea, where I lost 25 pounds, of my normal 140. I had loads of tests for infections, parasites, liver and pancreatic function etc etc. Some inbalances in my flora and overgrowth of candida were all that was found. I had been doing the anti candida diet, using GSE, probiotics, all sorts, I had tried virtually every suggestion I had seen on this site and I was getting seriously weak by then. Doctors remedies like codiene, immodium and so on were no real help. Then I discovered a supplement on the net Normal Stool Formula (NSF), within 2 days, my 10 - 15 times a day of cramping motions, with slight bleeding, had dropped to 3 times, within 2 weeks it was 1-2 times a day with no bleeding. Now 6 weeks later my weight is over 140 lbs and I feel better than I have in years, the bloating has gone. The irritation is minor, I still have to watch for some food intolerances. I think the NSF reduces the flushing action of the intestinal lining, once that was under control it felt like the normal flora could restablish itself, and the candida just disappeared.
Incedentally, as to the initial cause of my problems, I have just been diagnosed HIV+, with a CD4 count of <100, and viral load 400,000. and have had a huge multitude of other tests for infections, including an endoscopy and gastroscopy with biopsies that all came out negative. maybe it was all a reaction to the HIV itself.
