healthy lips

Posted by Elizabeth on April 17, 2003 at 08:27:19:

Dear Doc Stoll,

Regarding that lip irritation I had to which you responded development of an allergy...I quit using the lip gloss and it has ceased. I can't *see* anything dry except a faint discoloration, but the numbness and constant nature of it has passed. So strange that a simple (and expensive, to boot!) product can have such a dramatic reaction. I'm sticking to calendula cream as my summer lip gloss.

My question to you is, in your opinion:

Is it safe to kiss my beau? We have not kissed in several weeks and I am climbing the walls...

Thanks for your advice,
Elizabeth

Congratulations, Elizabeth.

Vigorous and prolonged kissing might better be delayed untill your lips are back into pristine shape. Do you think you can stop with less than that :o).

Your reaction has shown that you are close to the edge with your lips ability to heal themselves. It could even be that stopping your kissing is what has healed them.

Let us know how you do.

Walt
