A Simple Treatment for Hayfever

Posted by M. Bliss [4.1623] on October 09, 2006 at 11:27:24:

Just wanted to put this out there for anyone suffering with sinus or hayfever, that I have found works an absolute charm!

So after researching in the archives, I came across a post by labrat, where she had mentioned about her MIL? who was scheduled to have nasal surgery, but started using a saline nasal spray and was able to avoid surgery.

Anyway, lo and behold, my sis who was also suffering badly with hayfever this season, bought a saline nasal spray and it worked really well. I tried it and WOW!. My green mucous, within a day, turned clear and my symptoms of hayfever (stuffy nose etc) abated tremendously.

I did the saline nasal treatment from the archives (that you mix up yourself) but it didn't work nearly as well or as fast, as this specially prepared saline treatment.

Best part is that it is safe for pregnant, or nursing mothers.

When I feel the hayfever symptoms coming on, I reach for that saline nasal spray, and all is well again. ;)

I have been able to sleep through the night again (phew!) whereas before my plugged up nose was making that difficult. It is such a relief!!!! I never could get use to breathing through my mouth!

Hi,

Thanks for the useful information. What brand of nasal spray are you using?

Hi walt

I first read of the saline spray in the archives, where labrat's MIL avoided nasal surgery by using one.

Then my sister, who has been having severe hayfever like me, told me about how well the saline spray had worked for her. It's advertised as being "saltier" than regular.it's also non medicated hypertronic saline solution.

Well, I was surprised how my mucous turned clear from being green for almost 2 weeks, and it happened within a day of using the spray.and my nose finallly began to unblock, and my head to be uncongested!

I had spent 22 dollars on a homeopathic spray for hayfever called "luffa heel" it did help (not as effective as saline spray), but i had to use it quite a few times times a day for it to work, I also used the "afrin" which was comparable to the homeopathic spray in effectiveness. I have noweven been able to going back to drinking goats milk, and even sneaking in some cheese every now and then, without creating another round of hayfever incidence.

The saline nasal spray I have been able to go somedays, all day without using it, and then other days maybe twice a day. Most importantly, I ahve been able to feel normal again during the day, and sleep well at night. You can imagine, with an active 16 month old, I need my energy and to be able to sleep at night! ;)
