Be Still.

Gregory, Osho was one of the most intelligent men to walk the face of this earth. He taught and guided us in many ways in which to go within ourselves. To become peace by practicing the many types of meditations that he shared with us sannyasins. Perhaps you may be familiar with these methods. If not, there is one that has been known to cut through the chattering mind if practiced daily. It helps one to recognize all the voices that have many conversations within the being. It helps a being to recognize that you are not the voices and to be a watcher of the insanity that goes on in our minds. This method is called DYNAMIC MEDITATION. It offers the same peace that Walt offers us with the SR, however for one who finds it difficult to be still, it gives the opportunity to be physically active and throw off the negative energy that is trapped within us.

Sorry to butt in on a post to Gregory, but I just couldn't help putting in my 2 cents worth--it's those voices again. I object to the characterization of the voices in the mind as insanity. I find them very useful at times for supplying information, rehearsing situations, and most importantly, for providing a Socratic Dialogue to test the validity of ideas. (We can't all find real live Gurus to help us do this.)I do agree they can be annoying if allowed to constantly run the show. That's where discipline (as in your meditation)comes in. Thanks for listening to my voices.

Thanks, Chris.

A western viewpoint that has been VERY successful has been Stanislov Grof, MD's/Esalen/Spiritual Emergence network.

Namaste`
