Hi Dr Stoll. I meant to let you know, besides my recent vitamin-b question which I am now addressing, that I am experiencing a major change in the joints of my right hand. Several of the fingers seemed permanently stiffened, and 3 of the 4 major knuckles had mushroomed in size and were also stiff. Well, for the past week, the knuckles have shrunk and my fingers are free - they "click" when I bend them, but they ACTUALLY BEND! I keep waiting for them to stiffen up again, but as I said, it has been a week and they have remained the same. Thank you for everything - it has been hard to wait for this continual and gradual improvement, one wants a panacea to immediately take care of all that ails them - but, it has been worth the wait and encourages me to continue - I will stay in touch and let you know when other improvements occur. My gratitude to you, Labrat, Helping You and others who have helped to guide me though this. Best wishes - Rebecca

Hi Rebecca,
I just had that happen too and have had it happen many many times. One week ago my hands were so blown up. BUT I have been keeping a running diary of everything I eat every day and quickly found the answer and immediately go into action to make things right.
In my case it was eating one tiny piece of birthday cake and a little ice cream but the sugar goes right into my hands.
So I increased water, have been feeling so so good on a vegetarian diet with juicing, veggies, fruits, lots of fresh air and deep breathing.I also have been taking cod liver oil and more quiet and prayer. And I just wait to
poop it out and when I have 3 bowel movements a day I feel soo good. Plus knowing what I am eating has no side effects and I have been very very strict lately.
But Rebecca I have learned through years of supplements and listening to others with RA that they might not have it as severe as I do or they maybe can eat processed foods and junk food and dairy. I can't.
In the past few weeks I have made a big poster of priorities and also a journal of what I eat when plus I have lost so much weight AND made time for me and my husband by taking some romantic time off.
But truly I remember talking to some dancers years ago and discharged many people from DDC unit where their 30feet of colon was so messed up and they were cleaned out and returned over and over.
So I just have tremendous respect for my body now and considerthe colon a water way and drink only water till it all comes out and then I stop the next time I am in the presence of something sugary.
I have a dear friend who owns a fabulous health food store and she looked at me in church the other day and told me I needed organic sea salt and I got that too.
Mainly I am still doing all the deeper cleansing but Barley Green and organic green salads, juicing and lots of water feels so good for my body. And I feel lighter and am literally and happier.
This is what works for me.
Oh I forgot to mention all the pain and swelling is gone and my hands have a skinny, bony look and my skin is shining and pink and light.
Love Lovebird

Rebecca
I hope you are reading this.
The best thing happened today. I saw my doctor and he said "what are you doing? you look fabulous and everything
is perfect."
Plus I lost 10 pounds.
All the office people too noticed a big change and is was so much fun to have had so many good things happen and be in control of RA.
I hope you are improving.....
