Friends,
I mentioned this to my wife and she decided to try it. I got a box of raisins and the smallest bottle I could find of Tangueray Gin. I soaked the raisins in the gin and then did not know how many raisins/dose or how often to take them to check out the approach.

Doc: I was the one who posted this.
It's three raisins, three times a day, Walt. Once the raisins have been all used, dump the gin (blech!) and start from fresh again. Tanguerey huh? You buy the good stuff!
Of course, you WILL let us know how she does, won't you? ; - )
P.S. My brother-in-law is the one who told me about this. He lives in Rockledge, Florida (I think you live in Florida, too). If you'd like to speak with him directly, let me know and I'll pass on his telephone number or email address.

Walt--3 white raisins, 3 times a day, soaked in (brand-not-specified) gin. Tanqueray sounds good to me! I have been thinking of trying it myself, so I'll let you know my results.
Good luck to your wife.

Walt,
I say err on the side of pleasure. I say nibble the raisins prn for smile maintenance. Of course I'm an unreliable source of advice. Tangueray has been a downfall of mine in the past. Glad to know there might have some medicinal benefit, though I might have been light on the raisins. :)

I find that a Snickers Bar soaked in gin works even better. :)

I take it your wife won't try Robert McFerran's diet ? :-)
I was surprised to see stuff on the web for this treatment. Here's one site ...

Thanks, Jim.
I am surprised that my wife wanted to try this. She has not been willing to try anything else I have recommended except the glucosamine which she admits, grudgingly, helps a lot.

Walt,
When I read the first post by "Alexandria Dumas" about this,I figured it was probably one of those urban legends.
I told my mother about it, and she said that about thirty years ago my father had a co-worker who tried this. The guy went from being on medical disability for arthritis to being able to climb telephone poles again. Zowie!

Hi, Jessie's Girl.
If this individual was trying to test out the PWFD she wouldn't even be allowed the raisins :o).
