Severe Arthritis: My grandmother . . . .

Typical and progressive of the elderly but I believe there's more to it. My Grandmother is in ALL AROUND bad health. Being naive and old fashioned, she lives off of the doctor system. She pops Antibiotics like Candy, literaly. All the signs of bad health have been adding up of the years and now she has severe back and hip pain invisible in X-ray etc. They're now saying it's arthritis. Likely, but I believe there's more to arthritis than just . . .arthritis.

I believe I read some good literature in the past on here about realistic causes and preventions to arthritis flare up. Isn't it caused by an immune system problem? Or Poor Blood Circulation or such?

I'd really love to give her some insite to whats happening, you know her doctors aren't (she's even told me this) and possibly some preventive health. Any ideal supplements?
Anyone had any similar probs or solutions?

Thanks,
Chris

Antibiotics arent's going to help her...

Maybe you could convince her that the treatment she's currently getting isn't working b/c she's not getting better.

You can read about arthritis, Leaky Gut Syndrome, Candida and bracing in the archives and glossary. I would think the antibiotics have wreaked havoc in her gut which is contributing to her all around bad health and arthritis.

Good luck,

Martha

Chris M One of the best books on arthrits I have read is Pain Free in 6 Weeks by Dr. Sherry Rogers..The question is she ready to do something about it? If she is in enough pain and fed up with Dr's who are not helping her, maybe she will listen..I have found that by doing some simple things ( not eating NightShade foods and more water ) any pain I had is no more..Sure feels good not to hurt..Silver Fox!

Hi, Chris.

Realize that sick people tend to make bad decisions. You may have to just love her as she is till she passes.

M, Because when I applied her recomendations, I got results..I guess there are other books that talk about not eating NightShades, but she makes it easy and has had severe arthritis herself..My arthritis is miled by what most people get but it was a constant problem ( mow the lawn and have lower back pain )..Now I don't even get headaches..Haven't taken a NSAID for almost a year now and what a plus for my health..Find the root cause of your pain, then you can fix it..Silver Fox!

She may surprise you.Read the archives, but I would not give her all the information you find at once.I got my grandmother to quit taking Celebrex after taking it for a year, and she has made some changes on her diet too.You may start with suggestions that should be easy for her to follow, such us drinking more water and reading some not so good story about antibiotics.S.H.A.P.E's story about how he put his arthritis on remission is fantastic too without having to read an entire book.
I think a lot has to do with trust. Why should she trust you more than she trusts her doctor with her health? Show her.
Go easy on her and don't give up.

Now,
I'm trying to get my grandmother quit potatoes, tomatos, and peppers, but I don't actually know WHY they are not good for someone with arthritis.Any explanation?
Also,if she does, how long should it take for her to feel some difference? She has a good diet, and she is taking supplements.
Thank you.

Re: Severe Arthritis: My grandmother . . . . NIghtshades? Archive.

Hi,M.

Nightshades are laced with solanine. The average person in this culture ingests enough solanine in their diet, in a year, to kill a horse if given all at once.

Solanine causes tetany of muscles in toxic doses. In less than toxic doses it only causes an increase in muscle tension (bracing) and that is how it aggravates arthritis.

Of course the majority of us can eat nightshades without aggravating our arthritis but elimination (for a few months) is worth a try to see how much it is influencing anyone's arthritis.

Hope this helps.

Walt
