Many parents of autistic children report dramatic improvements in both behavior and cognitive/communication skills upon infusion of secretin, with Ferring secretin viewed as superior to other forms.
Why would this be if it is indeed true?

Dad,
There have been dramatic breakthroughs in our understanding of the multifactorial causes of autism within the past 2 years. Secretin is a substance produced by the healthy gut lining. Children with LGS do not make much secretin. SO, about 20% of autistic children will respond to secretin administration.
Vaccinations, in genetically susceptible children is another proven cause. About 10% of autistic children fall into this catagory (biopsy proof of LGS). A deficiency of essential fats and NATURAL vitamin A is a cause for about another 30%.
