Autoimmune Mechanism and conditions
Posts to Ask Dr Stoll BB regarding
Autoimmune Mechanism and conditions
There have been a few posts to the Ask Dr Stoll Bulletin Board (BB) regarding Autoimmune Mechanism and conditions. Some of them have been archived here. The archive is roughly chronological. I hope you find it useful.
Summary:
Autoimmunity happens then the immune system mistakenly starts attacking our own tissues. Since those attacks are very specific--the way the immune system is designed to work--thyroid tissue, joints, connective tissue, blood elements, etc., are normally attacked in isolation even though the basic problem is autoimmuniity. At least 90% of autoimmunity is started by the mechanisms of LGS (Leaky Gut Syndrome).

Thanks, Mary.
Good question.
Listen to both SHAPE & Serge. (Archived in wellness.)
It is NOT easy but it IS easier than living with most autoimmune conditions!!!!!!!!!!
LGS is but one of processes along the way to how autoimmunity occurs. The whole process of the autoimmunity mechanism is still poorly understood.
That is why the first thing to do is serious wellness which is one of the best ways I know of to move toward resolving LGS as well. Your extra-healthy bodymind is still the most amazing piece of engineering in the known universe!
Autoimmunity is one of the most deeply disturbed breakdowns of our protective systems and, as such, cannot be frequently reversed by one magic step. Usually it takes a progression of steps--the most effective next step determined by the results of the step before it.
If you are determined to be well, and so take the necessary steps, please share your progress with the BB (where we may be able to guide you for the next step) and so serve as a teacher, and inspiration, for those who are still seeking.
Another alternative is to find a competent local holistic practitioner. Never stop learning. You never know when you might outstrip your teacher.
Hope this helps.
Walt
