i'm writing as a patient of these terrible and debilitating ulcers. i have gone from doctor to doctor for years. after seing a pediatric gastro-interologist, i have been dianosed not only with reoccurant apthous stomititis, but with idiopathic chrone's disease, which these ulcers are a symptom of. i'm just letting people know that i know how incredibly painful these are, and they, at least for me, can last up to a month and can be crippling and make it hard to simply breathe. i just want people to know that these can be a result of something else, ie. chrone's disease... or bechet's syndrome. please email me if you have any questions at all. i'm not in any way a doctor, just someone who knows first hand what these are like.

Hi, emily.
Have not your docs made the connection between aphthous ulcers and Crohn's for you???
Both these are caused directly by LGS (leaky gut syndrome).
Use the glossary for any unfamiliar terms and then the archives to understand them better.
Start with LGS, go to Crohn's, then to SR and then to stress (home page and the archives)
Let us know what you have learned and then we can go on.

My wife is thought to have Bechets.
She is on 20mg of prednizone and they have and will try cyclosporine for the treatment of her ulcers. The only downside of cyclosporine is that it could be rejected by some patients and it is originally used for cancer and transpant patients for anti-rejection. A doctor at Mayo clinic put my wife on Dapsone for a while but the side effects were so nasty and almost killed her due to Guillain-Berre syndrome. This was highly suspected of a reaction to the Dapsone. Be wiery of this medication! My wife and I are considering legal action against Mayo clinic for this doctors choice and mis-management of her health!

Hi, J.Q.
Behcet's is a dread autoimmune condition!
Her only real chance is serious wellness ASAP. See the glossary for any unfamiliar terms and then go to the home page articles (free wellness protocol--"How To Be Healthy") and the archives for the 3 legs of the wellness stool.
She may see symptomatic improvement within a few months, but it will take her at least a year to begin to be confident of avoiding a relapse.
She is going to have to be very careful about her health for the rest of her life but should be able to live normally.
Let us know what you are learning.
The only payment I ask is that she share her experiences, as she gets well, with the rest of the BB participants so as to help others with similar conditions.
