Hi Walt......
It's me AGAIN! I wrote a few days ago about the Scleroderma. I went to the Rheumy today for the first time. He looked over everything and had a few things to say. He said he suspects that I have Sjogren's syndrome instead of Scleroderma, but is running the Scl-70 antibody to see what is shows. He said that since I am ++ for anticardiolipin I need to get back on the baby aspirin/day to prevent blood clots. I had stopped it back when I had all the liver trouble. I think it was helping to burn a whole in my bowels as well. He said that since my ANA and ESR were elevated he thinks the antibodies for the Sjogrens will come back ++. If not, they'll do a labial biopsy. He said I will have to take Plaquenil. He said this disease can get serious and it needs to be treated. I told him I don't want to take anything, and he said that it was necessary. What do you think about Plaquenil? Is there anything natural I can take instead that may work in the same way? I have really been watching my diet, and have been trying to do SR. I am going to see if I can get some help from a yogini. I don't know where to look for biofeedback. Is it possible that the candida and leaky gut and causing the symptoms that mimic Sjogren's or is it more likely that it is beyond that point, and I have the disease in itself?? I am so frustrated with everything! I really believe that the stress I have endured this last year from all their "diagnosis" has caused me to become more ill than I was starting out!!!!! Ugh! If you have any words of wisdom.....
thanks for letting me rant Walt!

Hi Jennifer
I also was diagnosed with Sjogren's recently, but am not taking anything for it currently. There's a great discussion group for it that has a lot of information on drugs for sjogren's -- it's: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SS-FHF/
Take care!

Hi, Jennifer.
Remember, no matter what the fancy name is given, it is STILL an autoimmune problem and serious wellness the best approach. The plaquenil will only give temporary benefits--if that. Be sure to read the PDR (ask your reference librarian how to use theirs) about it before you buy it.
So long as you continue to "try" SR, you will not resolve the most important part of this problem. You have to DO it. If you cannot find a biofeedback guy to check your technique, I would suggest going to Ebay or one of the websites for used stuff and getting a used GSR. When you are done with it you can resell it.
Let us know how you do.
Walt
