temperol arteritis

Posted by Sophia on May 31, 2000 at 19:30:29:

Has anyone had any experience with temperol arteritis? My sister is taking high doses of prednisone and is expected to take prednisone for a long time. I'm concerned about the side effects and the ultimate harm this will do to her. Does anyone know what causes temperol arteritis and if there is a safer way of treating this disease without the risk of blindness. She has been on a whole foods diet for many years before this diagnosis.
Thanks, Sophia

Hi, Sophia.

SR is a LOT more important than a whole foods diet for this--as is an elimination/provocation diet (see Robert McFerran's archives about this).

Since ALL autoimmune conditions are basically related to LGS, and prednisone worsens LGS, her treatment is gradually making her problem worse while it relieves her symptoms temporarily. She should keep up the prednisone WHILE she learns how to deal with the causes.

See the glossary for any unfamiliar terms.

THEN, if SHE has any questions have her put them here on the BB. In the long run SHE is the one who has to deal with this. Neither YOU nor I can do it for her.

Walt
