Hair Loss

Are there any sound ways of preventing or even reversing hair loss? What are the dangers of such drugs as finesteride (propecia)?

Thanks,

Bob

Dear Bob,

The only thing that I know of that significantly delays hair loss, in the typical "male-pattern" hair loss I assume you are asking about, is a serious wellness program. It even is the most effective way to get hair to grow back--so long as it has not been lost more than 5-10 years.

For other types of hair loss, some different answers although all other approaches are helped by wellness as well.

Read the package insert at the pharmacy (or PDR at the library) for information about propecia.

Let us know what you learn.

What would be the components of such a wellness program? I eat well (type O diet), get plenty of exercise, and am
beginning to meditate. What else should I do?

Hi, Bob.

Now that you have added the most important part of the wellness program--for hair loss--(meditation) your program should really start working. One part is worth 3 points, two is worth 9 points & three is worth 27 points.

There are other reasons why the regular practice of skilled relaxation in the most important but I will not get into that here.
