BIOFEEDBACK UPDATE (IC)

If you want to use biofeedback directly to relax the levator ani call (800) 521-4640 (Bio-Medical Instruments) and inquire about their "U-Control, Pelvic Floor Trainer".

Up to now, the instrument for this application was about $4000. This unit is now about $400.

STILL, I recommend dealing with total-body "bracing" by the regular practice of skilled relaxation. In the long run, you will learn to relax the pelvic floor without this instrument. If you learn to keep the pelvic floor relaxed with this instrument, you will no longer need it. There should be an active trade in used instruments. In the long run, the total-body SR will prevent recurrence of this condition.

Using THIS instrument, however, will more quickly deal with IC symptoms and even give you a tool for learning effective SR for the rest of your bodymind. People with chronic hemorrhoids or prostate enlargement would also benefit from this machine.
