I have luckily gotten my insurance company to agree to pay for biofeedback with a $25 co-pay per session. Can you tell me approximately how many sessions I will need? I have had one session and was advised that I was able to relax myself pretty well...I just want to get to the point that I know that I am doing my SR correctly when I do it at home...

Hi:
Just wanted to let you know that my insurance also paid for biofeedback (in full) but it just so happened that the person doing it is a psychologist which makes it easier to write up as psychological services. I went to only 3 sessions and did extremely well. I haven't been going lately because of my candida related illness that gets me down. There is no way to determine how long it will take you but I loved it and will continue because I think its of utmost importance.

Hi, KKS.
Rosemarie has it right. The way we ALWAYS used it in my office was just to test the person to see if their home procedure was working. For this, one session is all it takes IF your method is working. If not, the therapist should be able to tell you what to try next from the readings on the machine and what procedure you had already given a good try. That would mean that you might have to come back to see if THAT approach is working. If it is not, we would recommend the person rent a machine for a month and learn what works for himself.
From what you are saying, you have already learned this.
