Dear Sir
We need for our Clinic a brain machine based of application of alpha waves...which is capable to induce fast a patient into hypnotic state....we already have one based on light and sound effects...

Hi, Goran.
They had these more than 20 years ago so I am sure they have them now and much better. Try www.bcia.org
You realize that these are not passive and so not everyone can safely use them.
Let us know what you learn.

Dear Walt,
What do you mean exactly by not passive, how can they be harmful, and who can't use them??? I already did a search of this site and didn't find any answers.
Thank you

In the Glossary entry for SR, there is a description of active vs passive SR.
Walt did not say it, but I'd assume the risk in active devices is for Epileptics.

Thank you Harvey, I'll go back and read some more. I'm not Epileptic, so that's not a problem for me, thank goodness.

Hi, d.d.
There are machines that acrtually put a pulse of electricity, magnetism, sound or light into the brain and depend upon entrainment to get the brain pulsing at the alpha/theta rhythm. I thought you were asking about something like that. Those are "active" entrainment devices and are pretty safe except for those who have epilepsy, or even a tendency toward it.
Passive machines are those that put NOTHING into the system but feedback to the person what is happening so they can find their way TO the rhythm.
Hope this helps.
Walt

Dear Walt,
Thank you, that's perfect. I'm actually interested in both machines, and that's just the kind of information I need.
