Hi Dr. Stoll,
I asked the Biofeedback therapist again about the Theta waves. She said my son has about 3 times the amount of Theta (in relation to Beta & the others) that he should have. She said that people who meditate & all work years to get that much Theta, if ever. I told her it doesn't make sense to me. She said that the reason they are so hyperactive (ADHD) is that they have too much Theta, so they are trying to stimulate themselves & so everything stimulates them (people talking, a dog barking, sound on the chaulkboard) & that makes them hyper. I still don't get it.
Anyway, he has 4-7 cps of Theta (I think I'm reading the brain map, right). and 1-3 cps of Delta, 8-12 cps of Alpha & 12-20 cps of Beta. The Delta has to do with sleep, Theta with drowsy, deep ___ (can't read that word) Alpha has to do with alert/relaxed (I think relaxed is the word) and Beta, Alert, mind active. I'm reading the doctor's scribbles on the brain map, so I might be wrong. She said that most ADHD kids have too much Theta or too little Beta or Alpha, but my son has both. I hope this is making sense, because I don't understand it enough to even be typing this, but you may understand it, anyway.
Just wanted to give you what info I have.

Thanks, Straw.
This makes sense with the rest of what I know although it is new to me. Since I know that people can be trained to purify their alpha and amplify it (Menninger Clinic in Topeka's work with Jack Swartz and others) I would hope that your biofeedback instructor would know how to do that.
Really heathy people frequently stay in alpha all the time.
