Who posted the link to a GSR Machine for $60?

Posted by skippy [568.1351] on February 17, 2006 at 15:41:47:

I can't find the post or archive. Does a machine this inexpensive work? Is it worth me buying? I'm not a big ebay'er so I haven't checked it out yet. I really want to become an SR Guru ;) but I'm not sure I'm getting to Alpha/Theta or not. I think I am but it's not consistent. The feeling I have is quite wonderful when I am where I think must be these brainwaves states. I feel heavy yet light and floaty all at once. It's hard to explain. But I'm only there for a minute or two at the most right now. I haven't been committed thus far to the 20 min. twice daily but if I know I'm getting "there" I will be more apt to stick with it.

Thanks!

skippy

Not me. Found this. Question about SR.

Just do a google search for GSR2 and you come up with a lot places
that sell this $60 machine.

Maybe I'll need to go back to searching this site... but SR is "certified"
by a GSR device, right? I only ask because I know these types of
devices measure electrical resistance which varies by stress/
relaxation. So, although it is measuring your state of relaxation, (the R
in SR), how does that certify if you have acheived the brainwave
pattern associated with releasing stress that Dr. Stoll has mentioned.

Meaning (guess it could be construed as a dumb question), is
relaxation always associated with a change in brainwave frequency?
How would tell the difference between Delta and Theta with such a
device?

Anyway - does a "positive" response from a GSR device indicate the
brainwave state that goes along with SR? One can't happen without
the other? Right?

Eric,

Remember: it is the change in the reading that is the proof of effectiveness. A significant change in the reading is sufficient for proof of effectiveness of SR for all we have been discussing here.

If you want to go into research you will need a "mind mirror". See the book:"The Awakened Mind" and let us know what you learn.

They seem to have products for a wide range of uses, from those for
the layman all the way up to high end. I don't know anything about
them (what can I say, its an internet site) - so, assuming they are
legit, they've got programs for three of my issues.

Now just need $$$. I'll see if the library has the recommended book.
