This seems to be the only method known to effectively and inexpensively deal with this problem. It involves using nitroglycerin patches.

Thanks, R.
Makes physiologic sense!
The recluse bite causes the problem of spreading necrosis by producing spasm in the arterioles supplying oxygen to the tissue and the main effect of nitroglycerine is to dilate blood vessels.

I had heard that the treatment was to supply O2 like
from a mask to stop the necrosis.

I had had a recluse bite, about 2 years ago- it was the weekend, and i put off going to the dr. a friend noticed it , and made a wormwood and juniper berry poultice and put it on. with in hours, it stopped spreading, and by mon am, it was healing!!! i swear by this treatment now, i dont know how it works , but it does- and has for us several times. if anyone has any idea of how this works- id love to know!

Would you please describe how you made the poultice (herb proportions, concentration, preparation, application, how long you kept it on, etc.)?
