Hi, Michele.

How long ago? Is there any possibility of a brown recluse bite?

Hi Walt,
I noticed it Friday AM...it was really red and hot...I started taking Benedryl.... it didn't look good all day.... went to md in afternoon, he said benedryl and cold compresses...
I guess I can't rule out brown recluse (I live in pa and my home is surrounded by trees) but not sure. I'm sure it was an inside spider (and yes, I'm aware br recl could be inside) *I should say, I'm sure it was attacking me from inside!
In any case, after a holistic lady then berated me for working out in the am (I didn't realize it was anything too bad when I did this) she said that putting a homeopathic cream would help...and not the meat tenderizer. the cream gave me temporary relief, (10 minutes) BUT the meat tenderizer during the PM seemed to have done a bit more. It doesn't look nearly as red but IS swollen still....
help!

Thanks, Michele.

If the center begins to turn black it COULD be a brown recluse and you need to see the doc again.

ANY bite (including the brown recluse) will be less reactive if the meat tenderizer is used immediately and held on with a moist bandaid for about 24-36 hours. The longer you wait the less effective.

Let us know how you do.

Walt

Hi - It is almost gone 100% now..it is just a red blop, less than the size of a 1/2 kt diamond (sorry, I couldn't think of anything better!) there is one major puncture but it looks like three outlying ones which arc around it, which look like pinheads if that.

The MD said it would probably turn black and blue but it did not...isn't that odd?
