Low Carbohydrate Dieting

I've read with great interest your article on refined sugars and carbohydrates. I've been following a low carb diet-Dr. Atkins Diet Revolution with excellent results in all areas.
I've lost 22 lbs, 2 dress sizes and gained mental improvements as well as physical ones. My only problem is a flare up of osteoarthritis and wonder if this program has caused it. I hate to give up the Atkins way of life because of the vast improvements over my other way of life. Currently, I take the recommended vitamins and have added 1500 of Glucosamine Chrondroiten.
Low Carbing has improved depression, improved my life and I feel like a different person.

Hi Frances,

Every once in a while someone comes to this BB that has made a singular change that has a profound effect on several different areas -- many that you wouldn't expect.

This is the case with your experience with the Atkins diet. You probably gave it a try since you wanted to lose weight and your weight has normalized. What was unexpected is that you've seen an increase in energy as well as mood (no more depression).

The Atkins diet is working for you because you have inherited what I refer to as a Hunter-gatherer metabolism. While Dr. Atkins diet has put you in the right direction it is only the tip of the iceberg in understanding the impact of diet and how much control really have over things like your weight and arthritis.

I'm going to e-mail you the Hunter-gatherer diet which will work MUCH better than the Atkins plan. Your osteoarthritis is undoubtably tied to some hidden food allergies. I'm also going to e-mail a copy of the ELIMINATION DIET to help you uncover them.

In the end you'll be eating a Hunter-gatherer diet (which is high in fat, protein and especially purines) and take out the food allergens that are causing your arthritis to flare.

Bob

Hi Robert,

Could you please email me that same information? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Robert, Perhaps it's time to reposte those 3 diets here, since it's a bit of a pain for so many people to find them in the (wonderful) archives.

On the other hand, perhaps folks NEED to find them in the archives, so they know where all the other good stuff is.

I for one would like to see them posted here - again so we didn't have to dig thru the archive to find the diets. I would be very interested in seeing them.
Thanks
