Bob, foods that change metabalism

Posted by Michelle B. on November 05, 1998 at 16:37:09:

Bob and anyone else out there,
I was wondering if there are any foods which slow down metabolism. I have known that I have Graves Disease for about 3-4 months and I am trying to address it the "holistic way". I have been exercising, eating whole foods, and practicing relaxation. I also had a visit with a homeopath 1 week ago and took a remedy. I have noticed that I am not getting nervous and that I don't have tremors as badly now! My heart rate has been in the low 80's after relaxation, down from my all time high of 100 after relaxation. I want to do everything I can to "quiet" down. Can you please let me know if there are any foods to help me out?
Thank you!
Michelle

Michelle,

You should eat the foods to which you are best adapted. It's that simple.

To do this you need to find and eliminate your hidden food allergens.

Then you need to eat the foods that your ancestors ate (and in the whole form in which they ate them when they had vibrant health) --- those ancestors whose metabolism that you have inherited.

Finally you need to remove a handful of foods based on your blood type that we know contain lectins that react with your specific blood type.

There is no magic bullet........

Bob,
Thanks for the insight. I did not know that 85% of people with chronic diseases have food allergies. I just read that in the archives! I thought that the elimination diet was just for people with arthritis.
Since I've been only on the whole foods diet for about 1 month, I think I will wait about another month before I try this elimination diet. I don't know how many difficult things I can do all at once!
Thanks,
Michelle
