ELIMINATION DIET DAY 6 & since. Robert mc ferran

Posted by steve lyles on December 07, 1998 at 18:09:47:

Bob, day 6 found me feeling very weak and disillusioned i ate veggies only as suggested and had fish with my evening meal , i started to feel even more unwell as the evening progressed ,I know you believe it unlikely that icould create a sensitivity to a substance so quickly but iam almost certain, THAT, is the root of my problem ,i have tried so many times in the last three years or so to eliminate different groups or types of food ,the 1st day or 2 I usually feel great then there is an immediate decline until the foods are changed again , which was also the case with this diet change the foods and feel immediately improved ,the down side for me this time is more weight loss (pretty scary)and a depressed /despairing feeling of what now? .any advice/encouragement greatly appreciated.
thanks steve

Steve,

As you know the elimination diet is skewed toward the light side of the metabolic spectrum. As I recall we thought that you were a Hunter-gatherer.

It's time for you to start adding foods from the Hunter-gatherer list. Start with the purine rich dark meats and try to get plenty of fat (that means skin on the chicken and the fatty cuts of beef or lamb). You'll be eating 3 meat containing meals each day.

Don't hesitate to contact me at 502/451-4639 to review what you've gone through. I'm having trouble getting a full picture of what exactly has happened and when.

Bob
