question for bob mcferran

Posted by tom w on December 31, 1998 at 11:18:43:

bob, thanks a lot for your help regarding my last hypoglycemia question. actually i have been testing my blood sugar a lot more the last few weeks, and my "curve' basically runs like this everyday- wake up 47 to 50 , then if even if i eat frequently it only goes up to a max of about 65 to 67, usually hovers consistenly in the low 60's , i agree from what i have read it appears that i am flat line hypoglycemic, and my symptoms seem to support this- ie. weakness, hangover feeling usually about until after lunch.i'll try the hg diet.***** can you buy creatine monohydrate in a health food store?****also , to help out in the meantime would glucose tablets help ( i have been battling candida for 6 months, bad idea?) what about injectable glucose to avoid the intestinal tract/ unsafe?as you can guess the symtpoms are really making me depressed and although i know the root cause must be fixed , im looking for some symptom relief to get me through the hard times. thanks. you are the greatest.

Glucose injections or tablets would be the WORST think that you could do for your condition. In fact you will find that ANY overly carbohydrate rich meal will continue to deplete your glycogen reserves faster than you can build them.

The creatine monohydrate can be found in health food stores. Don't take the massive doses that they suggest. About 1,000 mg. (one gram) at the end of each meal should be enough.

The fastest way to resolve your problems is to move to the H-G diet. You should feel an improvement in energy level within 48 hours.

I am curious. Do you know some of your other blood work values -- including uric acid, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol? What about your blood pressure?
