Day Four of Elimination Diet

Posted by Linda Irving on January 25, 1999 at 11:40:58:

Well I've followed the elimination diet perfectly into my forth day now. The nausea was very bad Friday and Saturday nights, but I did not have any Sunday night. I've found that mornings are very bad for the depression, but not very different physically. By the the afternoon and evening the depression seems better. My stools are still only in the AM and seem to contain significant amounts of undigested food. I can't say that I feel my bowels are working as I would expect them to yet.

My joint pain is largely gone, but that wasn't a major problem at the onset of the elimination diet (it has been in the past though).

I did notice some muscle tightness in my upper arms last night, but that seems to be gone now.

Is there anything else I should be doing now?

Thanks

Linda

Linda,

Let's stay with the same diet at least another two days since I do think that you will 'clear' some more. Don't eat if you don't feel like it and remember to stay well hydrated.

Don't worry about you bowel movements for now -- they will normalize later. The visits later to the colon hydrotherapist will help get things flowing smoothly.

You feel worse in the morning due to 'metabolic drift' during the night. As you move from the elimination diet to the Agriculturist metabolic diet this 'drift' will become less and less significant. After 4 months of staying with the Agriculturist diet you probably won't be able to detect any difference.

Experiment the next couple of days with the fish. I would expect that you might feel your best eating the fish only at your evening meal or perhaps none at all.

I do have an appointment next Monday with a colon therapist. First visit to this kind of service, but the therapist comes highly recommended.

Linda,

After I had a chance to see what came rolling out of my colon during my 3 hydro-therapy sessions it made a lasting impression that made it easier to convince myself that whole foods were the only way to go.

You might want to consider moving the appointment back a week or so -- since you'll be in the 'testing' phase next week. Of course you can keep your appointment BUT you won't be able to re-intorduce any new foods for 24 hours after your session.

The problem is that the hydro-therapy (while good over the long term) can stir up enteric toxins that can make you feel worse for a day or so.

Bob
