Esterified C during food testing

Dr. Stoll or Bob

This is the allergy season in Texas -- in fact, this whole
year has been the allergy season here, because it has been
so unseasonably hot and dry. About the same day I started
introducing new foods after my E-diet, I started having a
bit of allergy trouble, just a touch of the sniffles and
sometimes my throat feels a little irritated. I bumped up
my amount of Ester-C and the symptoms went away. Is it
unwise for me to do that right now? I'm wondering if it
will water down the reactions I might have to foods, since
it strengths the immune system.

Second question -- since I surely have C-RS (VERY bad leaky
gut -- dr. said macro particles leaking) I am doing a diet
which includes drinking UltraInflamX drinks ... haven't had
the guts to mix that first glass however. Do you think I
need Nystatin or Diflucan or GSE in addition to the diet and
the drink?

Johnelle,

You shouldn't be taking ANY supplements (especially Ester-C) when doing food testing for the reasons you just mentioned.

You can't take any special drinks like the UltraInflamX either. NONE of these drinks take into consideration the variance of metabolism better individuals. I've found that most of these things will only work (if they work at all) with Agriculturists (remember H-G's and Mixed types are minorities). Even worse this drink in all probability will push your metabolism in the WRONG direction. Don't use it!

The classic example of this is the use of garlic as a natural anti-fungal. Garlic was also touted to lower cholesterol and even blood pressure. Garlic assists the metabolic shift in Agriculturists but is very powerful in pushing YOUR metabolism in the wrong direction.

This is all an experiment with your physiology and it's important that we only change one variable at a time.

The problem is that you know more than your doctor now.

Bob

Johnelle,

Is it possible that the slight snuffles and irritated throat were actually in reaction to one of the foods you introduced to test?

Remember Walt's example in the book about the person being allergic to ragweed & potatos. In ragweed season, one way of avoiding the ragweed reaction would be to avoid the potatos, thus reducing one of the other stressors. I don't have my copy of the book at the moment so I may have the details wrong, and I have condensed the explanation somewhat, but I think you will know the bit I mean.

Deb.

Thanks for the comments. I won't take any more of the
drink. I just kind of jumped onto this E-diet idea at the
last minute since my doc was putting me on this diet and the
drink for two months for the C-RS and LGS, so at times I'm
still gathering info that I should have had a long time ago.
I will stop the Ester-C also. Now, what am I going to do
for this constipation? I noticed you had commented that all
meds should be continued, and since I had some Doxidan stool
softener I have taken it when I began to get concerned ...
like when the third or fourth day rolls around without any
action! Is

Johnelle,

Be patient. The Hunter-gatherer diet doesn't have the bulk of a grain intensive diet.

Ultimately you might want to investigate a series of 3 colon hydrotherapy sessions to help give you a fresh start. Wait until the end of testing before embarking on something like this.
