I've been on the mixed dietfor about a month now. I haven't done the elimination diet yet, but I'm having great results on the mixed diet. I'm now able to sleep soundly all night without my stomach bothering me. I went through menopause at age 37 and nobody knew why. My menses has started again and I do believe it's the diet. When I first started the mixed diet I just couldn't get enough meat. My family just stared at me while I ate like a cave woman. I feel much calmer and happier. I've only gone off the diet a few times to eat pizza or a few donuts, and you're right, it's not worth it.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the BB.
By eating a diet mismatched for your inherited metabolism you were in essence STARVING your body -- even though you ate an abundance of food. The result was the cessation of your menses.
I've seen this same EXACT phenomenon in 5 other women that I've worked with personally and have seen it described in Dr. Wiley's book BioBalance. Dr. Weston Price observed this same phenomenon at the turn of the century!!
I also believe that eating a diet mismatched to inherited metaboism is one of the MAJOR UNDIAGNOSED CAUSES OF INFERTILITY.
I've seen so many YOUNG couples that simply cannot conceive. The docs go about 'ruling out' different things only to end up scratching their heads thinking "well, things should work". Suffice it to say there is little more exciting than getting a call or e-mail from someone that alters their diet and conceives within the next three months.
Congratulation for trying something new. It takes real discipline to stay away from those donuts and pizzas -- especially at the beggining.
If/when you want to pursue trying to find hidden food allergens let me know.
