petechiae

Posted by amanda [857.4531] on April 16, 2008 at 18:53:21:

hi Dr Stoll, and All~ I used to come here often, but it has been a couple of years now..hope Dr Stoll is well. Anyway, this site and Dr stolls 1st book changed my life! I rid myself of IC! Thru 3 legged stool..Anyway, I did some pretty heavy (for me) wieghtlifting the other day, and now I noticed a few what I think look like petechiae ..little red pin pric type dots..not grouped together, but just a few here and there. Is this something that could be caused by over excerting myself with too much weight?I do not have any health problems and follow 3 legged stool along with w lifting 3-4 days per week..Thanx for your help... I am 5' 6" and 116 lbs, so not overweight.

Yup. Amanda.

Congratulations on your progress. Where are your petechiae? Heavy straining can easily cause petechiae.

The dosages of bioflavinoids, in the bruising archives, can increase your resistance to petechiae from this cause.

Walt

Thanks Walt. There are 2 on my top of my arm and one on the inside of my arm. I usually press 27 lbs, but I went up a little one day, then a few days later was able to do 36, with some struggle ( I have been resistance training and wlifting for about 2 yrs now)..then a day or two later I noticed a few little red dots and figured they were petechaie, but was not certain if this could be a cause. Thanks again..

Thanks, Amanda,

In my opinion, no worries, 'mate.

Walt
