Dr. Stoll's Book - Testimonial (Kudos / Heroes)

Posted by Pauline Mailler on July 24, 2000 at 20:28:17:

Hello Dr. Stoll:

I ordered your book "Saving Yourself from the Disease-Care Crisis". It is so insightful and well-written, I decided to do a review for a local Allergy and Environmental Health Association. I will also be doing one on the Healing Power of Whole Foods--a powerhouse of information on the foods we eat (to follow at a later date). Following is the content of this review:

SAVING YOURSELF FROM THE DISEASE-CARE CRISIS

About the Author:

Dr. Walter Stoll, M.D. is a courageous human being who
because of his beliefs in treating his patients with a
combination of allopathic and naturopathic, complementary
and alternative treatments has been harrassed by his
own profession.

Dramatic improvements in his own health, after following a
number of holistic approaches, led him to follow this path.
He has since followed this course for the last 17 of his
30 years in medical practice.

Content:

Dr. Stoll advocates a whole foods diet--the subject
of another book review which will follow. In his book, he
discusses the critical state of health care in America
today and asks the difficult questions about the monopoly
of conventional medicine that limits the options available
to most consumers of medical services.

Beyond this, he describes many common sense "safe"
approaches to reversing the effects of many of the ills
produced by the modern American lifestyle. Such ills
as the common cold, hiatus hernia, fungus infections,
allergies, arthritis, mood, mind and memory disorders,
behavioural disturbances, IBS, Crohn's and colitis,
endocrine conditions, AIDS, vascular insufficiency and
more are addressed.

As many of you have discovered already, sugar is
high on the list of foods to avoid. In addition,
refined carbohydrates come under close scrutiny. Dr.
Stoll outlines a blueprint for good health through diet
and skilled relaxation.

Dr. Stoll explains his belief that each one of us is
born with a certain level of immunity and uses a Bell
curve graph to demonstrate this. People born at the top
of the graph tend to enjoy greater health and require a
higher level of stressors to become ill. Most of us are
born in the middle and because of the ever-increasing
environmental stressors, it is not surprising that new
"diseases" crop up almost on a monthly basis.

Dr. Stoll concludes that allopathic medicine is still the
best choice for surgery, management of trauma and acute
infections, but that chronic diseases such as arthritis,
allergies, cancer, ansiety, depression, substance abuse,
gastrointestinal disorders, hypertension, and immunological
depression are not well managed by allopathic options. Dr. Stoll encourages patients to think for themselves through
knowledge gained from education and to form their own
conclusions.

As a true hero of our modern times, he deserves our
admiration and support. It is because of people like
Dr. Stoll, along with some others in our own community
that we, the patients who have developed chronic symptoms
which many times cannot be diagnosed through existing
tests, are starting to get relief and practical advice
to help ourselves. These brave individuals are people with principles who have pursued this path at great personal sacrifice in terms of their careers and advancement within their own profession for the greater benefit of us all. This book is a MUST read for all who are concerned about their health and that of their children. You can order the book by visiting >Dr. Stoll's web site at: http://askwaltstollmd.com/book.html
-- the site itself is also well worth your time.

Namaste,

Thanks, Pauline, for your insightful review of the book.

I hope it helps others it might help to see that there ARE options they are not being told about by their conventional docs.

Would you be interested in reviewing the new edition (about a year from now) and perhaps even having a blurb in the front like there was in the original?

Namaste`

Dr. Stoll:

Absolutely, I would be honoured to do so. It would be such a small gesture compared to the incredible assistance you are providing to anyone who is lucky enough to know you, find your site and/or read your book. And what a
wonderful tool the Internet has become for spreading the word around.

Any way we can clone you? :-)

Namaste,

Pauline
