To those of you whom frequent this forum this topic may be a little off subject, but after speaking with Dr. Stoll, he asked me to post this.
Many of you may not be aware, but there is a whole other world of information (the alternative media) out there accessable via shortwave radio. The topics run the gamut from conspiracy to NWO to health issues as discussed here.
There are many great broadcasters just waiting to be heard by new listeners.
If any of you have recently purchased one of those wind-up shortwave radios, now's the time to break it in and see how well it works. Some popular frequencies of SW stations in the USA are :WWCR 12.160 8a-4pm, 5.070 4p-8am, or also try 3.215 eves. Check out their program schedule at www.wwcr.com
WHRI 5.745, 5.755, 7.385, or see their program guide at www.whri.com
Another station to try is WGTG 5.085, 9.400, 6.890 USB
If you find that your radio doesn't cover some of these frequencies, then it may be time to buy a better radio. My first suggestion would be to get a Sangean 818CS. This is a top of the line radio that covers the entire SW band as well as AM, FM, and LW. It also has a built in cassette recorder
to tape those programs that nobody would believe you heard!

This is an excellent price for a nice radio.
