Friends,
After several years of work with Jan and a lifetime of practice--the combined experience of both of us--the "how to" book for wellness is finally actually here! Delivery was yesterday.

Congrats to you both. I know it took alot of hard work and perspiration. Is this book technically a follow up to Saving Yourself, or an updated version with more goodies?

Thanks for your good wishes! Recapture Your Health is very different than Saving Yourself. Actually, the update for Saving Yourself is the next book to be published. It will be called Beyond Disease Care and time estimates are challenging but I would guess about a year from now.
Recapture Your Health is a how-to, self-help, nuts-and bolts-book about following the 3LS wellness program and how holistic healing works in practice in your daily life. We tried to put all the important details in there of actually doing the practices, including troubleshooting, tips on integrating the practices into your life, when to get assistance, what causes symptoms to happen, etc. It's a big book -- 440 pages -- because we wanted people to have enough info so they wouldn't get stuck anywhere and have the greatest chance of succeeding in improving their health.
There is a large resource section, a glossary, an index, and lots of testimonials -- many from the bulletin board friends.
We will be interested in hearing people's comments after they've had a chance to read it! The first shipments went out today.

You can also call 1-877-357-9355 (toll free) and leave a message, either with the order or your phone number and I will call you back. I'm in session doing massage a lot, or on the computer sometimes, and it is unusual to actually reach me in person for the order.

Wow, I just saw the price of the new book. Call me a cheap-skate but $20 is quite steep, isn't it? I'll have to save my money a bit for that. I'm pitiful, can you believe that I don't have $20 at the moment. Sad, sad.

I've been in a similar situation, too poor to afford anything but food. I hope things get better financially for you.
It is a huge book (440 pages) with a lot of information and explanation, because we wanted to make it possible for people to really, truly get well. We really try to empower people with this book.
Sorry I couldn't price the book lower. The price is as low as I could make it. Actually, it's too low in relationship to the expense of producing it (people told me to price it at $24.95, but I wouldn't do it). I priced it lower because I wanted to make it accessible for more people. Books by big publishers are priced very low because they start out printing 20,000 copies. We can't compete with them and started with a much smaller amount -- more expensive to print. The benefit of our publishing it, though, is we put in the information that we think will be most useful for people and it won't be edited out.
You can also ask your library to order Recapture Your Health and borrow it from them. Tell your library they can order it from Quality Books or Baker & Taylor.
