About 2 months ago, I realized that when I swallowed, I felt a "clicking" sensation in my neck (left side), as if something was getting slightly stuck. Also, when I moved my head to the right I would have to "re-position" a few times to bypass again what would feel like something stuck! There was no pain, so I lived with it for a while. On and off it would get very bothersome and occassionally painful. I pin-pointed the problem to the mid section of the neck on the left side, where I would feel a small lump, often painful. Doctors (I switched 3) told me it's probably nothing. One doc looked at my throat with a camera-wire, he said no apparent problems. Another did a thyroid test. I was on antibiotics for a month and the problem persists. All doctors want to put me on some anti-flamatory drug for every day use. I need to know what this is first. I read the related archives and now I am more worried than ever. I wasn't planning on a biopsy but when in doubt, it seems to be the thing to do. I am over stressed and paranoid about this. I recently lost my mother to a brain tumor and I witness her suffering. I need to know what I am dealing with. What should be my next step?

Hi,Kat.
This is definitely a form of globus hystericus (look it up) and the only cause is severe bracing.
Start with the glossary for any unfamiliar terms and then get rid of your bracing. You can more quickly (but temporarily) get rid of your immediate symptoms by doing the massage series or the Rolfing.
Let us know how you do while you are getting better.
