Hi all, I was wondering if I could get some information about my liver issue. I been having trouble for several years. 1995 I was told I had an enlarged liver and an odd lobe at the bottom of it. Over the years I have had muscle and joint pain, migraines, swelling in my feet and hands. It has gotten worse. I now have peripheral neuropathy, they say I have fibromyalgia and complex regional pain syndrome, colitis. My SED rate is high. I just had an ultrasound on my liver and some more blood tests, they did SGPT and SGOT. They now want to set me up for Friday for another scan with radioactive material through the vein. I have asked so many questions to the doctors about what is going on with me and I never seem to get a real answer. I asked what was SGPT and I get: a test to see if your liver is functioning correctly. I have researched these symptoms I have..there are many more..the sun gives me a rash on my face for instance. I was tested for Lupus and it was neg. can a person have that and it still come back negative? or could they be doing tests out of date on me, as with the SGPT and SGOT? I read the posts extensively. Where should I go from here? I also have bruises that appear on my feet and legs when they swell up and I can't walk they swell so badly. Could this be some sort of poisoning from aspartame? or MSG? Please help...thank u in advance. PS..best regards to all of those who are ill..hang in there :).

Have you been tested for autoimmune hepatitis? You may want to have a liver biopsy to see if that is the case.

Hi, Jennifer.
In MY opinion:
It truly is incredible to me that the allopathic monopoly is still using these "liver death tests" that have been outmoded for at least 20 years---since true liver function tests became well known. SGOT & SGPT are enzymes that are high in liver tissue. They are only found high in the blood when the liver cell has been sick for SO long that it has died and the cell membrane ruptures in death to release these enzymes into the blood.
If you had read the liver archives you would know about this and where to find a modern doc who would know where to send to a lab that does the kind of tests that really test liver function while the cells are still functioning.
Your complex of symptoms tell me that you have bracing at the base of your condition and LGS next on the hierarchy. You are at risk of MCS and your liver problem is mainly a detoxification stress.
See the glossary for any unfamiliar terms and let us know what you learn when you finaly see someone who can see the forest for the trees (See the archives for holistic practitioners.) You will need all your medical records (in your hand) and a self-constructed lifetime health history as described in the Health Coaching Protocol, to get the most out of your consult.
Let us know what you learn.

First of all, thank you Walt for the information. I am going to check out what you posted back to me. To the one asking about the autoimmune hepatitis, I am not sure if they have tested me for that or not. They just order them and I go have the blood drawn. It is really hard for me to get an answer from them on the tests and what they do, or what they are really looking for. I ask and ask and they just seem to pass me off, or give me minimal information ie: to see how the liver is functioning or some similar hum drum. It is very frustrating. I am going to go on Monday and get my records and I won't leave without them ;). I had the cat scan done today and veins collapsed 3 times, they finally managed to get one..yayyy. No results on that yet, but will keep you posted on it. I am also going to start a liver flush next week. Thank you all for everything. Hi Donna, huggggs. Jennifer.
