I sneezed two days ago and immediately felt a tug in the area located in my left side, inside of the bottom of my ribcage. The tug was accompanied by a sharp pain that subsided but remanifests itself during coughing or sneezing. Any commment appreciated.

Thanks Hermann, I must have not been clear on my description, my pain is located on the lower left side of my ribcage, midway between my chest and waist. But I am aware of the HH pain located in the front and directely behind the ribs. I had a fundalupication procudure performed about six years ago to correct the HH and terrible GERDS symptoms. It worked out very well and I eat anything I want now and have eliminated the heart attack like syptoms that I went through three or four times before the procedure. If you have any other ideas, let me know. Thanks for your considerate response.

Hi, Terry.
From your other symptoms it is appareent that you have been a "bracer" for years. That makes it a LOT easier for you to "pull a muscle" which is the cause of your current pain.
Treat this as a pulled muscle and it will go away at the rate that these kind of things do (about 6 weeks).

Once I had a cold where I was coughing, and sneezing quite a bit, and I developed a sharp pain in my right side. I was treated for the cold, (which had gone into an infection) and the doctor ordered an ultra sound for my lower right side. The pain was in a precise spot.
The ultra sound showed ovarian cysts. I was put on BC pills to reduce the cysts, and that did not work. I had the cysts till I delivered my son via C-section and they were drained at that time. However, during my next two C-sections I had cysts drained as well, so they must have come back.
It may be something to look into.
