Headaches

Posted by Smiler on October 28, 2002 at 10:09:32:

I know this subject has been touched on numerous times....but....I am at the point where I can not manage the pain anymore. I have a headache everyday....everyday!! It always starts in my neck and goes up over my head to my forehead.....and then if I cough or even blow my nose..my head feels like it will explode...I get terrible throbbing.....if this is a tension/migraine combo....I need to find a way to make this stop.....I have had MRI's....cat scans....you name it.....all come up nothing.....

HAve you tried chiropractic adjustment? I had headaches for years until a chiropractor adjusted my neck regularly for a period of time. Sure beats taking pills.

I can identify with you totally, Smiler. I had migraines and sinus problems since I was a teen. Over the counter meds helped the sinus problems, but nothing really took care of the migraines until I started a nutritional program of supplements. Haven't had a problem now in over three years. Don't give up.

Hi, Smiler.

I do not know how you can kep this moniker when this is going on.

BRACING, BRACING, BRACING!

These are typical muscle tension headaches. You probably already have TMJ from the same cause.

See the headache archives and the bracing archives (Possibly even the TMJ archives.). Then start on your massage series recommended (for immediate relief) and go to the library for a booklet about Alexander Technique. Chiropractic may help you through this.

In the long run, only SR will keep this from coming back.

See the glossary for any unfamiliar terms.

Let us know how you do.

Walt

This sounds like what I had a few mo ago. I
put heat on my neck and it went away in 15min
I tried a heating pad but it wouldn't stay in
place because of the curviture of the neck so
I made a cayenne pepper & salt water plaster
by weting a paper towel with it laid it on.
Because the pain seemed to on/in my scalp I
figured a nerve was involved and had a
stiffness in my neck.
