Hello. I've had many problems and symptoms of the urinary tract/prostate (urgency, frequency, dribble, spreading streams, pain/pressure) for the past 12 years and have only recently had a cystoscopy done a few days ago. Long story short, he told me that my bladder neck was quite narrow compared to the rest of the urethra. I believe this has been causing my symptoms/agony over the years but I'm not quite sure what to do about it. I have tried several and I mean, many different treatments in the past that didn't really help such as abx (loads of diff. ones) allopurinol, alpha-blockers, nerve block, neuronton, elavil, pain medicine, prostate injection, prostate massages, herbal medicine etc. It's been a long hard road to say the least. Anyway, the only thing that seemed to remotely help was pain medicine, elevil (some), and kegel exercises (slightly) and prostate massages (some relief) Now that I actually have some physical proof of what's going on, I'm wondering what could be causing this pinching of the bladder neck. He stated that everything else looked pretty good but that portion of the baldder neck coming out of the bladder. Could this actually be some type of involuntary muscle spasm that costantly keeps that portion of the urethra restricted? Any input would be greatly appreciated. He also mentioned TUIP but I'm ont really convinced this would help yet. I'm counting my options as usual, even though I've already had 3 unecessary surgeries over the years, hernia & testicular torsion. Frankly, I 've been through the mill with this crap and I'm sick of it! Thanks for your consideration and please respond if you have any experience with this type of problem.

Hunter,
No mention but have you had a PSA test? You can find a good herbal tincture from www.godsherbs.com..

Hi, Hunter.
A perfect example of bracing of the perineal muscles. See the IC archives and deal with your bracing.
The day will come when a knowledgeable physician will suggest this first--not only after thousands of dollars of "investigation" and years of unnecessary suffering!
Let us know how you do and what you learn.

Hi Hunter,
I've had IC and 99% resolved it using the information here. Another great resource is the book A Headache in the Pelvis. It addresses Interstitial Cystitis in both men and women.
One easy way to figure out how much muscle bracing can affect these symptoms is to start doing some form of skilled relaxation (SR) and notice how your symptoms fade when you do. For SR I meditated and did yoga. I think both are great for this.
Take care,
Daisy

I've never actually ahd a psa test but I'll look into the herbal medicine. I've been looking into acupuncture for this type of problem and it looks pretty promising I must say.
Thanks for the input,
Hunter

Thank you for the response. Looks like I'll look for more input and more research on this subject.
