Doc found breast lump! Now what ? Bit long.

I'm still real new here. I'm in the early stages of making changes for my health. Mostly reading, starting SR and asking some questions. Taking a good hard look at my life style. Wk-ing on info for health protocol.
Some background info 1st. They found cysts in my breasts when I got my very 1st mamogram done Jan. last yr thu gyn. Took me in to have an ultrasound done the same vist. They told me not to worry it was just fluid. Also, I had already been on hormones (nat hormones only)for few yr's because of P.M.S. I suspected from having post tubal syndrome. But after finding this boared not so sure.
I started having some pains in my chest a few wk's ago. Just didn't think to much of it. I just thought it indigestion or stress. So I took something for indigestion. But it didn't help. So went to my reg PC Doc when it got to the point where it was a constant ache. He's found a lump in the area where the pain is.
He wants me to go for a mammogram. The paper say's Diagnostic MMG,left. Palpable and painful mass near chest wall at 10:00 on left breast.
But he's also telling me he may wants me to see a surgeon as mammograms can miss things but a surgeon has more experience in what to look for.
Oh my.... is this the norm ? I need to keep a handel on whats going on.
Also he's saying I may have to stop taking hormones. I'm only using Estradiol gel right now. But what would I take for the P.M.S. symptoms.
Sure could use some feedback.

Thanks CJ

Hi, CJ.

Welcome to the 'site.

If I had this, I would first start the program for eliminating fibrocystic disease of the breast (your previous diagnosis) and the most likely diagnosis this time as well) while putting off your surgeon ("To a hammer, everything looks like a nail.") for a month or so. If fibrocystic disease is still your problem, it will be a lot better in just a month and fully resolved in 6-12 months. Even the most eager surgeon will be given pause when the problem is going away right in front of his eyes. See the fibrocystic archives.

You would be wise to change your hormone replacement to estriol (see the previous notes about this within the past few days).

Let us know how you do.

Walt

Dr. Stoll,
Oh gosh, I'm sorry I didn't think to ck. the archives for fibrocystic disease as this has not really not been a problem till now. My focus has been on other health issues. Sorry, just had a moment of slight panic.

Thanks for the welcome.
This is truly an awesome site. There is so much to read and learn here.
I saw your previous post. Not sure I got why you suggest using estriol. But will go back and re-read it and start on fibrocystic archives.

Thanks so much, CJ

Explore Natural Alternatives With Leilani Tejeda

Dr. Stoll and CJ:

I watch Leilani Tejeda on YOUR HEALTH (Family Net TV). Leilani says that she has seen these lumps go away with natural hormone therapy.

Leilani counsels women over the telephone for a fee. Her number is 1-888-641-Bliss.

Exploring all the alternatives would be wise before any decision for surgery was made.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Pam

Hi, clp.

I have discussed this several times. Try the search engine and let us know what you learn. There was a special note about this new HRT research just this week.

I have read several items in the Archive and you keep referring to Premarin as a natural hormone-is that correct? Premarin is pregnant mare's urine that is altered in a lab so it can be patented and sold by billion dollar drug companies-It is not natural-and is in fact a cancer causing agent! I have failed to find any real reference to Natural progesterone on this site, that in anyway refers women to even try it. Let me know if I have missed something, however I would have thought with your holistic attitude towards medicine, you would be trying your best to steer women away from something that is giving women cancer.

Hi, clp.

If you have been following this BB, you know that I continue to learn more things. Until the past 10 years, premarin was the standard and the most natural thing on the market.

Just within the past week I have, once again, outlined what I have learned in the past year, some of which has been known for 10 years.

See the note from last week about HRT and the aging archives about estriol. I have NEVER recommended the routine use of progesterone!

I recommended premarin for my RN wife before I knew better but, even though I have known better for at least a year, she will not bother to change. Perhaps the recent Newsweek (her favorite magazine) section about it will get her to listen?
