Last year my girlfriend was in a car accident and the drivers side window crashed on the left side of her head. She had catscans taken they told her she had a minor concusion & she would be alright. They only saw calcium deposits on her brain. She's been concern since the accident, she has constant headache's, dizziness, sometimes faint. This is not normal every morning she wakes with a migraine, and she's getting tired of the pain. Her doctor said this is normal after the accident to have constant headaches, that the headaches may never go away. This does not sound right, is it the calcium deposits causing this or the trauma from the head injury from the accident. Please help, we're tired of the headaches and the dizziness. Sometimes she suffers tremors on the right side of her body. Please, give us some advice. The accident happened January 7,2001.

The calcium deposits are probably not causing the headaches. Misalignments or structural traumas are most likely the cause. I would suggest being evaluated by a chiropractor or a doctor that performs a technique called "Neurocranial Restucturing". Both these techniques can help if there is structural misalignments/traumas due to the accident.

Hi, Moon.
Your friend's headaches are almost certainly NOT migraines but muscle tension headaches from the accident.
Listen to Helping You and look at the headaches archives and glossary. Finally, her headaches MUST be stressful to her and the natural consequences of what she is experiencing is "bracing" which seriously aggravates the structural cause of her muscle tension headaches.
She may, eventually, need to see a neurologist but I think it would be a waste until she has resolved the structural and bracing causes.
See the archives for any unfamiliar terms and let us know how she does.
