I keep reading confliting information on which is the best dietary source of calcium. Some say dairy others say green leafy veggies. Both sides claim to be "experts". So, Who is right?

Natural is the only way to go so stick with the Green Leafy Veggies. Anytime you ingest a supplement, it also contains toxins, which must be purifyed by the Liver before it can be sent into our system, therefore, you do not want to over-load your Liver any more than necessary. If you're presently experiencing a health problem, then your Liver is already congested and taking lots of supplements only serves to further burden your Liver. We think that by taking supplements, that we are doing something good for our internal body, when in reality, without first detoxing our Colon, Liver and Gallbladder, we are 1) adding more toxins to a already toxic body 2) wasting money and 3) wasting valuable time because supplements cannot perform their intended duty when your Colon and/or Liver is congested and not functioning properly. I've never seen "Anyone" regain their health and happiness, without first reversing the "Root Cause" of their health problem, which is a toxic Colon and a congested Liver or in laymans terms, you continue to absorbing your own toxic waste. * S.H.A.P.E. *

Bob, perhaps the dairy people are the ones who say that it is the best source of calcium but not too many others agree. I know one of the statistics used is that this country has the greatest dairy consumption but also the highest rate of osteoporosis. Absorption is big problem when it comes to nutrients derived from your diet and if you read the article on "leaky gut syndrome" you'll see why most of us are in big trouble.

The fact that North Americans consume the highest amount of dairy and the fact that they also have the highest rate of osteoporosis are not necessarily linked. Osteoporosis like any other degenerative disease is cause by a wide variety of facotrs. Noth Americans probably consume the highest amount of processed food and get the least amount of exercise out of all cultural groups in the world. It is my opinion that these factors are the primary culprits in causing osteoporosis.

Collard greens is probably your best source of calcium in the green leafy vegetable field. They contain more calcium per cup than milk. Most other green leafy vegetables do not cointain significant amounts of calcium.

I don't totally agree with you. There are numerous studies that show positive health effects with the use of vitamin/mineral suppliments. Just look at the one posted by Dr. Stoll that showed 200 micrograms of selenium per day helps revearse grave's. Now, don't get me wrong I don't think they can replace or are better than good organic whole food nutrition but, suppliments do have their place and can be effective in disease prevention.

Yes, I do take certain supplements but they only started helping me "AFTER" detoxing my Colon and Liver. This tells me that as long as there was a toxic build-up on my Colon wall, as well as my Liver/Gallbladder not functioning properly, that I was suffering from a malabsorption problem.

Hi, Bob.
Make uyp your own mind. Just remember that it is not the amont of calcium in a food but the RATIO of calcium to phosphorus that determines it's value as a calcium source.

Yes, GG, I agree statistics can be read anyway you want to, but, there is also something about the way milk protein digests and that it uses up the calcium... . it adds to the argument. I'm not a nutritionist so I didn't attempt to explain it.
