Calcium deposits

Posted by Alexandra on January 13, 2000 at 12:53:25:

I just got back from the doctor today and was told I have a calcium deposit on my wrist. It is on the right hand on the inside under the thumb. I noticed a small bump there a few months ago, but it never bothered me and I ignored it. This week is has grown and it is sore. The problem is that I am 5 1/2 months pregnant and 36 years old. They want me to get an x-ray and the Dr. prescribed ibuprophen for me to take for the swelling. I am not going to take it because I am afraid of hurting my unborn child. Can I hold off on treatment until my baby is born in May, or do you suggest to get an x-ray and start treatment right away? ALso, what is the cause of this and what treatments are available.

Thank you for your help.

You might take a look at the Calcium Deposits Archive (linked below). This general question comes up frequently here and has been archived.

Hi, Alexandra.

Listen to RocketHealer Jim (Thanks RHJ!).

The treatment recommended IS effective in the short term for reducing symptoms but so would be a hot soak. NSAIDS tend to make conditions like this progress faster while the symptoms are lessened.

Besides the calcium archives, you would be wise to read the arthritis archive intro at least. This is a harbinger of arthritis to come and NOW is the time to turn around those causes so you don't have to deal with THAT.

Hi Walt,

Happy New Year!

Any thoughts on the use of Androsone combined with glucosamine for dealing with early arthritis problems?

Thanks.

Hi, Wayne.

NO experience with Androsone. Time for me to learn from YOU.

I hace had experience with combining Glucosamine and the essential oils in the article on the homepage.

HOWEVER, one needs to think about LGS and SR to really stop the causes.

Thanks Walt. I'm seeing a naturopath who has recommended the androsone/glucosamine combo. Plan is that the androsone will reduce inflammation in an early arthritic shoulder while the glucosamine will work its magic on the joint. Been on it now for about a week. Will let you know about progress.
