DR STOLL, I had laproscopic cholectomy and a lymoma on my 11th rib removed I have rib pain the surgeon sais I had chondritis and 2 months later called it chronic pain . They removed rib cartliage on the 11th rib and pain is still here. I have calcium deposits on all my ribs. Could have they caused this with the carbonmonoxide gas? By the way the pathology on the lymoma showed it was irritated. The cartliage removal showed scar tissue how did this occur. Please help I have pain and I'm tired of taking pain meds. I am only 35. Iwas told older people have this what did it come from? I have scoliosis and had many xrays but these ribs never hurt until now . I would love to play sports but unable to and have a strenguous job hoping I can go back. Is this serious? please help . thanks tina

How are calcium deposits formed on ribs? Does this have anything to do with costochondritis?

Hi, Tina.

The calcium is NOT causing any of your symptoms. They are due to the CAUSE of the deposits and not to the deposits themselves. I know of no way to reverse the deposits BUT dealing with the causes of your costochondritis WILL get rid of your symptoms. After all, you do not care what your xray looks like so long as you have no symptoms (MY guess).

You will have to ask Doc Dave or Dr Kim about the Chiropracter. Remember that, in the long run, the only permanent solution is getting rid of the "bracing" via SR.

The chances are almost certain that your calcium has NOTHING to do with your "shortness of breath" but is due to the same anxiety (EVERYONE who is anxious breathes shallowly!) that is causing your bracing.

Walt
