Fof the past year or year and a half, I have had what I think is a calcium deposit on my wrist. It is on the inside part of my wrist, straight down fom my thumb. I also just noticed a slight bump on the bend of my middle finger on the same hand. They are not large bumps but I know they are there. I do not know if these are calcium deposits or not. They are not painful at all. Do these sound like cal. dep. or could it be more serius? I would like your input. Could it be a precurser to arthritis? I'm only 20 years old. Thank you.

Dear Rosalie,
Without seeing you & having the privilege of examining you, there is no way I can say. However, from what you HAVE said, this DOES sound like calcium deposits and, if so, they ARE signs of early arthritis.
You need a good Chiropractor, MD, DO or the like to examine you & make a diagnosis. A nutritionally oriented Chiropractor would even be able to help you reverse it whereas nearly all MDs & DOs would only be interested in helping you suppress any symptoms you might develop.
If these ARE what they seem to me, from your note, you would be wise to go to the archives for this 'site and read all you can find about arthritis, fibromyositis, tendonitis, etc., and their causes. My book has several chapters dedicated to the causes & resolutions to early arthiritic conditions like this may be. Also, Robert McFerran has had personal experience with this and has become our resident expert on how to reverse it. See his notes and the archives about his work.
You are MUCH to young for this to happen and if you do not get on top of it, you will likely be one of those crippled needlessly by a totally resolvable condition.
Walt
