Do you believe in I-131 for thyroid cancer? My cancer or residual tissue is
glowing on whole body scan. They will nuke me with 250 mci. I have already
had 150 mci. I am afraid of this again. Is there anything natural to prevent or
kill thyroid cancer that you are aware of? It has a high re-occurance rate but
usually after 20 years. I was diagnosed in 2003. Thanks

Hi, Victoria.
You have to understand how RAI works for this to have any idea. Stop to think about how a RAI diagnostic test works. The traces of RAI are picked up by the thyroid tissue and show on the screen. A "hot nodule" is one that is over active and picks up the RAI more than normal (hyperthyroid). A "cold nodule" is one that picks up less than the normal amount of RAI and that is most commonly a cancerous nodule the is not normal enough to function as thyroid tissue. A "euthyroid nodule" is usually not cancerous and fits the hypothyroid catagories. It picks up normal amounts of RAI and looks like normal thyroid tissue even though it is palpably a nodule.
NOW, if the cancerous nodules are not normal enough to pick up the RAI during the test, how effective are they going to be picking up the radiation enough to kill the bad tissue?
Directing the body's natural immunity to kill the cancerous tissue HAS to be what future approaches will use instead of the current cut, poison and burn philosophies.
Hope this helps.
