semen color

What can cause a yellow color to ones semen? I have been running to bathroom every hour to urinate...no pain involved. I am "uptight" and read about "bracing" on this site ... was thinking maybe that had something to do with always feeling need to "go".

thanks,
dave

Hi Dave,
I have been battling similar problem for several years. I stumbled across this website last may and have been practicing what Dr. Stoll preaches fairly regularly since then. I have had very good results. Not perfect every day, but pretty damn close.

I even had a diagnosis by a respected M.D. urologist at a premiere midwest healthcare institution that backed-up what dr. Stoll said about bracing and prostatitis and frequent urination.

I don't know what causes the yellowing of semen, but I would guess it's urine "backwashing" into the prostate due to the pressure (due to the bracing of pelvic floor muscles) you're needing to apply during urination.

I have been using the centerpointe CDs, but just recently purchased a 20 week progressive relaxation program on tape that I am anxious to try.

Check out the article about prostatitis as a tension disorder by David wise at the link below.
Be patient and do SR every day.

Dear Mark, today has been a hellish day , really empty...but thats another story. Just wanted to drop quick note to thank you for your kind and informative response to my posting. Do you realize that you , a complete stranger, have with your thoughtfulness added the only bright spot to whole day!

I have to see urologist on March 20th regarding a bump my primary care dr. found on my prostate. maybe such bump will not be cancer--- if not i will feel blessed... maybe bump is an anomaly due to prostatis.... Must be low grade prostatis if that is the problem because there is no fever or pain.

Hi, Dave.

The most likely cause is prostatitis or prostatosis and the color is from a little blod or pus in the prostate. Since bracing is the most common cause of THAT, listen to Mark.

Daily orgasm is the best all over treatment for the prostatitis until the bracing can be brought under control. Ask Mark.

Have you had a PSA or had a urologist check your prostate?

Let us know how you do.

wow, thanks for your time doc Stoll. i have begun the arduous task (hehe)of daily orgasm... Unfortunately, not having a person of female gender to help...(geez, this is embarrasing)...get me "off" so to speak... i put a movie clip i downloaded of a very exciting masturbation session by a woman i know only as Luna (too much info??? hope not lol). Well this is only my third day doing this ( i used to go for weeks without orgasms--- could be part of problem)
and already today i noticed less yellow but there was a very tiny (i almost missed it) globule of red blood in some of the semen. I have had symptoms of Candida for last year and didn't know what the hell was wrong with me..is Candida in prostate common? I get no fever or pain, but felt (feel better today) low on energy, vague pains, not mentally sharp or even down right spacey, just not myself...i was wondering if just doing the "orgasm" thing for three days may be getting rid of possible Candida? I look forward to your kind input on this since you spoiled me by responding before...Thanks again, for this great website..could find nothing but same old thing on all the other web sites..they didn't even mention Prostitosis or bracing-- ah , bracing...i find myself shallow or hardly breathing as if i am almost afraid to breathe, and also suffer from TMJ.

Dear Dr. Stoll, i went to primary care dr..she did DRE and said she felt bump so made me an appt. to see Urologist and set up for PSA test. Could this "bump" be a artifact of prostatosis? i don't know , but have a feeling the answer is yes...God i hope that is the case.

Dave, I found adding saw palmetto daily with all the others you have been told about here also seemed to really help. Good luck

Hi, Dave.

Since both TMJ & prostatis are primarily related to bracing.......

I have not seen candida be a primary contributor to prostatis but it makes sense that it could be. I think that getting rid of the factors that predispose one to the prostatitis is still the best thing. Having a microscopic examination of an ejaculate would tell if there were fungal forms of candida present.

Still, the most effective "prostate massage" is the smooth muscle contraction that occurs with repeated ejaculation. Besides, any effective physician massage bruises the prostate at least a little and contributes to the problem.

Keep us up on your progress.

Hi, Dave.

Cancer of the prostate feels stony hard whereas prostatosis, prostatis or BPH (Benign Prostate Hypertrophy) is MUCH softer.

If she sent you to the Urologist, she is at least suspicious that you have both prostatitis AND a cancer nodule.

If the latter is proven, you need to consider the controversy, currently, about whether prostate cancer treatment does more harm than good.

Let us know what turns out.
