Canker Sores!

Hi, I posted a message about canker sores earlier. I told you I got about 20 at a time and had a tongue ring. Well I went to a doctor for infectious diseases a few months ago. She said it had nothing to do with the tongue ring and gave me "Triamcinolone Acetonide Dental Paste". I have been using it ever since and it works like magic! I still have my tongue ring and have only had 1 or 2 canker sores at a time. The paste clears then up in a matter of a day or two. Just wanted to let you know and maybe people with canker sores should ask their doctor about this medicine. Just wanted to help. Thanks.

Sorry, Erin.

Treating canker sores with cortisone paste will NOT resolve the problem permanently since it has nothing to do with WHY you have the message your bodymind is sending you with the symptoms. This is typical masking tape over the warning lignts on the dashboard! In addition to that, you will eventually have other problems from the long term use of cortisone. Your doc knows this! Has she told you?

Read the package insert and, so long as you do not exceed the length of time recommended on the insert, you will have no problems with this short term treatment----other than that the canker sores will come back worse when you have to stop.

No she did not tell me this. I have seen more than 5 doctors about the canker sores and this is the only solution they have come up with. They had me on some sort of steriods, but i had to use that every week and it definately was not healthy. I still had the same amount of sores. Now for some reason i have only 1 or 2 sores at a time and this paste clears them right up. i can certainly handle 1 or 2 cankers sores a lot easier than 20 canker sores. once I had to go to the emergency room because i could not eat for a week the canker sores were so bad. i was dehydrated. i couldn't understand why all these doctors had no clue how to help this problem. they acted like canker sores were some new "disease" or something. i feel like a gineau pig since they have tried numerous different medications on me. any ideas?

Hi Erin,

There should have been a link provided when you first posted here, that said "canker sores"? It could be as simple as getting a certain toothpaste. Check out the canker sores archives linked here:

Hi Erin,

Have you even tried the type(s) specifically recommended for canker sores in the archives? Not something you can typically pick up at your local store.

Erin,

The toothpaste for you to try is one without one specific ingredient. Have you read the archives?

To get rid of the cause, you wilhafe to get rid ouf your LGS.

I've tried as much of the stuff as I could find here. Some of the stuff in the archives i couldn't get ahold of. I tried lysine, tea tree oil toothpaste, and other stuff like that that was mentioned here.

Hi, Erin

Several months ago I was always subjected to canker sores and figured there was nothing I could do to prevent them. I'm using Tea Tree Oil Toothpaste and haven't had any more for a while. It did take a while for them to completely stop developing. That's when I was doing my SR (skilled relaxation) between 3 - 2 times a day.

I'm restarting the SR sessions today in order to get back on the wellness path. I've had too much happen in the few weeks I haven't done an SR session and sure don't want these canker sores to return.

Take Care Of Yourself & Good Luck

Paulette

Hi Erin,

Wasn't there a special toothpaste, mentioned somewhere in the archives, that you could order by calling a 1-800 number? Seems to me I remember it, but if you can't locate it, let us know, or maybe start a new post asking if anyone has that number.
