I have so called, PAT which on an event recorder was recorded but Dr. said it may have been PAT. I have suffered also from pac, pvcs. I have regular echos which show a normal heart, and I have a suggestive case of MVP but does not meet the strict criteria of MVP. (this is per echo report).
I am wondering why, if I assume I was born with the tendency for PAT does it not show until later in life? I don't want to be destined for a life of medication nor do I want to pursue an electrophysiologist for an ep study. My Dr. also said I did not need this.
I have been practicing SR with Brain Sync tapes though not as often as I should. Have been trying to follow a good diet.
I am wondering arrythmias can go dormant again? I have not found anyone who would do IV magnesium. I take Mag. glycinate 400 mg, a day which I am sure is not enough. I am 36 years old with 3 small children. Unfortunately I have let myself become so fearful of any episode that my anxiety level is at an all time high. On one occasion I felt tense and anxious and then my heart began to race. I thought that was a panic attack. It was not preceded by any pac's. The next time I experienced that I had a sinus infection and took my first dose of Tequin and a few hours later I felt naseauous my hands began to shake and my heart began to race.
I am not sure what to make of this and just want to put my mind at ease. Any insight and information/suggestions anyone can give is greatly appreciated.
Happiness to all...

Hi, HoneyB,
Discipline! Discipline! Discipline!
First of all none of these are dangerous to you--only worrysome. Your doc agrees with this.
You already know how closely they are related to your stress symptoms. Since the only known way to reverse this cause is persistant and regular (twice a day) SR, what are you waiting for?
Your dysrrhythmias are just warnings from your bodymind. Be grateful that the message is so benign but do not ignore it!
Doubling your dose of magnesium glycinate might help but your solution is SR. You are currently just playing with it.
Let us know how you do.
Walt

My daughter was diagnosed with PAT as a teenager about 10 years ago. She just ran her fourth marathon. She is not on any medication although the doctor prescribed digoxin at the time. Every once in a while she has a small episode. It's a shame how fearful these physicians can make you feel.
Your other comment about your age of onset reminds me that one physician said certain conditions can manifest either at adolescence or around your age. Perhaps related to hormones if this is true.
